Welcome to Yavapai Elementary School, home of the Thunderbirds!

Yavapai was built in 1961 and was most recently remodeled in 2001. Our 750 students have the opportunity to participate in band, strings, art, general music and computer instruction coupled with a high level of classroom instruction. Our teachers are highly skilled and all have credentials to afford the finest instruction to our linguistically diverse students.

With high expectations for all students our credo, Yavapai students demonstrate their ability through many exciting academic and extra-curricular endeavors; Spelling Bees, School Wide Science Fair, Poetry Contests, Passport to Reading Program, Art competitions, Essay contests, Field Days, After-School Success clubs, sports competitions and musical presentations, to name just a few.  We celebrate Read Across America Week with a “Book Bash” and “dress as your favorite character” day.  Friday’s are school spirit days and every member of the Yavapai family proudly displays our school colors of silver and purple.

Yavapai has a special quality that all who visit our campus recognize.  It is a warm, comfortable feeling. Come by and experience it for yourself!
